Seven  year old boy flies FPV

Teaching a 7 year old how to fly FPV. This is the goal of master FPV pilot scrtsqrl to have him "solo", specified for this exercise as: to fly the aircraft for at least 5 minutes from launch to landing w/o any verbal or physical input .

quote from scrtsqrl  "For starters, I've broken up FPV flying into Two basic skills which have specific associated tasks that he needs to able to reliably perform in order to "solo":" end quote.

He has had four flights to his credit. He has thus far learned to Turn, Climb, Descend, do loops and recover from unusual attitudes. He was able to Land once today. Additionally, he can be trusted to maintain position over a specified area and shows some initial understanding of getting from one place to another.

Hobby Lobby Jumps into the FPV Scene

For the past 6 months the new CEO at Hobby Lobby has been gearing up the R/C company for FPV  gear. After teaming up with Mark Harris from Intelligent Flight Hobby Lobby is about to release there new Entry level Kit for FPV piloting called "Pilot View FPV". The CEO reported to me that Hobby Lobby sees FPV as a big part of the future of R/C along with traditional view piloting. The PilotView is aimed at the entry level  FPV pilot that is new to this type of RC flying. The great thing about this system is If you can hook up a DVD, CD player, TV, etc then you will have no problem hooking up the PilotView. Comes with easy colored coded RCA type connectors that are commonly used with video/TV equipment so it's that easy to understand. The system has about the same range as  a standard aircraft RC radio. Hobby Lobby will also be adding a On Screen Display and a few other FPV goodies in the near future. All I can say is the FPV future is looking good...
